Our Story
Kali Organics started as a concrete filled sand pit in Joostenbergvlakte just off the N1 on the urban edge of Cape Town in early 2018. The vision was to provide food security for a small community of like minded customers who recognised the nutritional value of organically grown vegetables in carefully nurtured composted soil using organic and permaculture farming principles.
The space occupied is around 2500m2 with about 1700 m2 under shade netting and the balance storage and infrastructure.
The journey has not been without its challenges with a serious borehole problem caused by a bacterial iron infestation which put an end to almost all expansion between May 2019 and April 2020.
During this time we invested in training and infrastructure for a small aquaponics setup .
The existing land is expected to be fully planted and operational from end June 2020.
